HOW IT WORKS

From recording to transcript in three steps

  1. 1. Add the recording

    Upload a file from your recorder, phone or computer, or record the conversation in the browser. Entering the number of speakers can improve speaker separation.

  2. 2. Check the speaker labels

    SpeakTide automatically assigns each passage to a speaker. Check the speaker labels and rename them, for example to “Interviewer” and “Participant”.

  3. 3. Download the transcript

    The TXT file includes speaker names and timestamps, so any passage is easy to find. The recording stays playable in the app for 30 days.

Before you use a quote, check it against the recording. Background noise, unclear speech or overlapping voices can leave errors in the transcript or the speaker labels. Download the transcript as a TXT file and correct it in any text editor if needed.

What you can upload

Upload a supported audio file from your recorder, phone or computer. Not an interview? SpeakTide also handles general audio to text transcription.

  • MP3, M4A, WAV and moreAAC, FLAC, OGG, Opus, AIFF and WebM are supported too. Video files such as MP4 are not.
  • File upload: up to 4 hours and 1 GBIn-browser recording: up to 2 hours or 100 MB.

What happens to your interview recording

Interviews often cover personal matters. The rules are set out in our Privacy Policy (in Polish).

  • Deleted after 30 daysAudio is removed automatically. The transcript stays in your account until you delete it.
